Driving School

Wow, guys. It's summer. I stayed in bed till 3, watched two movies, and jumped on the trampoline with my beau. Also, I went to driver's ed. And it sucked. A lot. *Sigh..*
Now I have to wash my sheets, dilly dally, and plan my birthday! BIRTHDAY TIME.
I love birthdays.
I've been planning my outfit for like a month now.
More to come later.
ANYWHO. Today I got to try out my new Sephora b-day makeup. And it worked. Who knew. Despite the fact that I felt super cake-y, it was wonderful. I can't wait to get Lime Crime..
Since I have no means of actually photographing what I wore while wearing it, I decided to lay it out, magazine-style.

Everything in this whole entire outfit was thrifted, or given to me; purple top from Goodwill, blue cardigan and dotty skirt from Dumpster Values, chicken purse and shoes from the Olympia Co-op Free Store, and my mom gave me the necklace.
That chicken purse has been with me for years. When I was 8 my mom went on a 2-week trip to Sri Lanka, and she left me and my brother a series of letters to open so we wouldn't get lonely. One of the letters contained the chicken patch she had made. It was way too cool to not put it on a bright yellow purse.
The purple shirt reminds me of summer. It makes me feel like a 50's housewife. I wish I could be more elaborate with outfits, but in the summer sun (what, sun in Olympia?) I have a hard time doing just that.

The movie I watched in bed today was the 80's classic The Lost Boys, about the vampire motorcycle gang in Santa Carla. It's fucking awesome. I love it.

Keifer Sutherland with a mullet, everybody. Can you even begin to imagine the amount of hairspray?

The Corey's, together at last. Haim (in the middle) had a fabulous array of Hawaiian shirts and floor-length beige coats. Feldman (on the right) dressed like a tiny, angry, vampire-hunting G.I. Joe. I don't even remember the other guy's name.
The clothes were outrageous. Feathered mullets, leather jackets, pierced ears and, you know, that 80's style no one can quite capture without pulling out pictures of their parents.
Also, this guy:

Well, I'm off to bed birthday-planning.
Sweet dreams,
Rheanna
