New Year!

Happy New Year! We've had a pretty hard year, haven't we? But its a new one now, guys! Isn't that exciting! And you know what the new year means, right?
RESOLUTIONS
thats what the new year means. And boy did I make some resolutions, boy oh boy. Lets review them!
ONE!
I need to buy less clothing. (oh the irony, I just sent and email to Kylie at the great blogNice and Shiny about buying this suh-weet Cheap Monday body con dress she's selling.) I'm limiting myself to ONE PIECE every couple of months. Because that way, I wont get super bored with it immediatly, and maybe I can save some money or something. (HAH. Good one, me.)

TWO!
Lose more weight. Always a good resolution. Or you know, one I make every year. Same diff.

THREE!
Not fail school! Kind of a sore spot, but an important thing none the less. I mean, if I fail school then how will I move to New York and become a glamorous fashonista/fine artist/cartoonist? No idea.

And now that we've got all that out of the way, lets look at some influences for the new year!
I'm thinking RUTHLESS BLACK MAGIC MYSTICAL ANTIHERO for keywords. So, tattoos and trees. Yup.

Sorry this was so picture heavy. Also I got all of these off of tumblr, but I forgot to like, link to the tumblrs. Sorry bros.

Hoooly Cuhrap..

I guess some people were actually, like, reading this blog. Which means I should actually, like, update it. Or something like that.
WELL. The summer is over, the autumnal breeze is chilling our bones, and it's high time for some fall fashions. I've decided to bombard you with pictures of my favorite autumnal things.

We watch this movie every Thanksgiving.

Who doesn't love a bubble bath on a cold night?

EARMUFFS.

Tea is the remedy for anything afflicting the mind, body, or soul.

D-D-D-D-DAAAVID BOWIE!

My absolute favorite fall accessory is my gigantic fur coat.

Speaking of fur coats! I was Cruella DeVille for Halloween this year, and attended some amazing parties hosted by some amazingly-dressed people. My costume (not totally pictured) was a giant fur coat, cigarette holder, crazy red hooker heels, a slinky black dress, and rhinestoned cigarette holder. I walked around all night yelling "DAAHLING, WHERE AARE THE PUPPIES?!" in the best accent I could muster.

I shall try to post more picture soon - on Monday I have to dress all shmancy for an interview, and I have expanded my wardrobe per usual with the help of many a clothing swap and romp through the thrift store!
Stay warm, stay sweet.

Avery's Fall Vibez

Woah! Is this. . . a BLOG POST?
Why yes, no one reading this, it is! Avery has decided to revive this corpus exquis and post about how I'm going to wear the EXACT same thing every day this fall/winter, and that is 90'S FLORALS!
I'm already planning on dragging Rheanna to the goodwill and buying up all the old lady dresses and hemming the crap out of them (with her sewing machine, mwahaha!)
Rheanna and I are also currently participating in a vaudeville show {READ ALL ABOUT IT}, which has been giving me major speak-easy/cabaret/goth-dream-circus vibes, but mostly on an emotional level, but that may become its own post, I dunno.

Thee Headcoatees.
April March as Serge Gainsbourg. DOUBLE THE LOVE.
Dum Dum Girls 'I Will Be' album cover. I listen to this on repeat for HOURS.
How great is this chicks Log Lady costume??
The Dum Dum Girls = The Best Best Girls
I want them all.
"My Log saw something that day."
Deer are my favorite animal (besides sharks).
90's florals 4 the win, y'all.

Wuv, twoooo wuv..

I went to my Aunt's wedding today.
It was in a small Hindu ceremonial church-type setting, though nobody attending the wedding including the couple were at all Hindu. The Swami who married them had a peach-colored sock hat.
It got me thinking about what MY wedding would be like, and I found a few pictures that I think will be inspiration for me when the time comes to say yes to the dress...

No, really, it's delicious.

"This is really happening..."

Well THAT'S awkward.

No, you're not invited.

Sun Bum(mer)

Eff you, Olympia. Why must you rain? Pffft. I can't wait to visit L.A..
Anywho, I haven't been able to take any pictures, I'm caught up in a whirlwind of packing my house and Shakespeare and heartbreak, and having been dealing with the heartbreak whirlwind with Drew Barrymore movies and chocolate.
If you haven't seen Ever After, you are missing out. The feminist Drew Barrymore/Cinderella girl is SUCH A TOTAL BADASS and they have the most lovely period outfits, mixed with such awful 90's eyeshadow..

If I could have found a picture of Prince Henry's ridiculously tight pants, I would have posted it. They really were something.

Oh, Marguerite! What lovely boobs *cough* I mean brooch!
Anjelica Huston had THE MOST AMAZING collection of hats I have ever seen. Really.

I think I should start wearing ginormous brooches and see how many guys I can get to stare at my boobs. Fuck I love this movie..
Also, Steve Buscemi dress:

This Shit Is Bananas

So! Who knew L.A. was so warm in the summer, because I seem to have forgotten. Luckily, I have literally 0 shame, so mini dresses without tights has become a sort of uniform for sprawling about the living room with the fan on.
And my janky, ugly, old lady swimsuit is TOO BIG (!!) so I'm getting a new one which is very exciting. And I'll probably get a memory card for my camera on the same trip which means outfit posts yaaay! And i went to h7m! I got some boring things that I like, needed or whatever (purse, socks) but I also got what is probably the best tank top I will ever own:
This one.
Im loving it because it's a clear rip off of some less versatile runway pieces I've seen around, and it's also hilarious. And perfect for this god awful heat. Brings a fancy tropical vibe to the place. Heres some more:

Bappy Hirthday

It was my birfday last Saturday.
I'm now sixteen! Woot!
If I find a way to post pictures of my fancy tea party, I will. I do have some cute pics of that day, though!

I got to wear my great-great-grandma's dress she made in the 20's, it's absolutely stunning. It's made of some sort of black and brown striped heavy silk, and it was totally worth it despite the heat. I actually put my gifts to use and used a book I received on vintage hair to add those victory rolls, and I got some gorgeous Fluevogs from my mum. <3

Also, lime crime! It finally came in the mail, and I am never going back to convenience store lipsticks EVER AGAIN.

I've spent all week at the Deschutes river all week getting tan in my Esther Williams polka-dot bikini. I had three different people say I looked like Betty Page. It made my week.
I pretty much looked JUST LIKE THIS:
Aaaah.. I wish...
Maybe one day..
Anywho. I have to go pack my house.
Lots of love, and more to come later.
